I try to add materials which i need to C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush 4R6\ZMaterials folder, so that i will not need to load new material everytime. Select the paint brush (for convenience, nothing special about it otherwise), select 'M' (as opposed to 'Mrgb' in this case), and then fill. Click on the Material icon to open the material picker. The Material icon is on the left-hand side of the interface, just above the color picker.
